Sailor Moon Crystal Star Compact: Third Proplica 2015
Tamashii Nations announced the third Sailor Moon Proplica on October 30, 2014, you can read about the event at this post. Here are all the specs and details on the Sailor Moon Crystal Star compact. Like with the previous Proplicas this one is also very high quality made in 1/1 scale. It is finished in a gorgeous shiny plating and decorated with sparkly rhinestones.
For the first time ever in any Crystal Star compact versions, the lid is actually removable so you can act out her transformation chest scene. A lot of detail have been put into it so that when the lid is removed the hinge is filled, forming a flat perfect circle.
The center crystal is a multicolour LED light, when you press on it music and lights will play. Kotono Mitsuishi will once again be voicing Sailor Moon in the new recording.
The Crystal Star compact measures 7.4cm x 3.7cm, there are 4 volume levels and it requires three LR44 batteries (sold separately). The retail price is 7,020 yen and it is scheduled for release on April 25, 2015. Check out this page for future updates!

I just got my crystal star proplica and I am a bit dissapointed 🙁
The ginzuishou has 4 small bubbles and they become very prominent black dots as the crystal lights up. They are also noticeable when the crystal is off. There is also a scratch in the golden ribbon detail. Has anyone else had similar issues?? What should I do?

Does anyone know what the difference between the Japan and “International” release is? My Moon Stick is a Japan one so I’m wondering if its just packaging/instructions or if the proplica itself will be different?

i just found it on entertainment earth for $69.77, but it’s available in june instead of it’s release date. the shipping starts at 9.95 and up, plus california has tax…i don’t know if other states will be taxed or not. it is cheaper than jlist this way, so i don’t mind the wait. i probably would’ve waited for amazon, but they’ve been iffy w their dates. i was supposed to get sailor saturn on a certain date, and it was delayed about 2 weeks.

I’m getting worried about the Proplica line staying true to the show. I mentioned this with the star locket, but I think it looks more like they are imitating the old toys and amping them up a bit than trying to be accurate. The center of the lid, for example, looks dramatically different from the show. In the show the center jewel is smaller and the gold circle around it is much more obviously a moon. This Proplica echoes the various versions of the toy / moonlight memory than the show, down to apparently the same finish.

Also- they certainly didn’t bother hiding the speaker as nicely as the other Proplicas… it stands out a bit.
Even though I’m not entirely thrilled with the new additions to the line, I will probably be sucked in and buy them anyways!

Agreed! Especially those speakers and that they put crystals on the top.. but it cool you can remove the opper part. Proplica should concentrate more on Wands and that they will look good. Also there have been enough crystal star items and now proplica is making another star locket that doesnt look more like in the anime? I am really getting pissed off..

I completely understand and agree with your worries. It really seems they are making this like the old toys and not really proplicas for now and I think that they’ll show other true proplica, now like the anime, in a few weeks or months. I think they’re doing this just for making more money, so they can sell lots of the same items. It’s really getting me pissed off. If they want to sell a revival line of the old toys, call it that name. Don’t spoil the word ‘proplica’ that was in a huge respect for most of the fans.

Well the speaker is more hidden than it was on the 90’s toy versions, that’s for sure.

The Star Locket they recent released was *not* a Proplica item though. It was literally just a re-release of the 90s version but with updated stickers and a rhinestone.

Yeah I noticed that as well. I don’t really see how they say its “Just like in the anime” if it has those mistakes on it. But it is however more truer to the anime than the old 90’s versions. In terms of size, no pink crystal, removable lid, no visible hinge, the points of the star don’t touch the gold edge and the fact that they made the quality very high in order for it to look more real.

Awesome! This makes me feel so much better about not getting the Moonlight Memories collection one. I hope the Cosmic Heart one is to follow and that it will be red not pink as it should be. Also, I wish Premium Bandai could realize how much more money they could be making if they made ordering easier for US fans!

I watched the live stream of the Crystal Star unveiling. Usagi says “moon crystal power”, as far as I can tell.
I admit, it does look better live than through images online.

I’m hoping there will be more quantity of this Proplica than there are of the Star Locket so I can buy it later at reasonable price. I’m still waiting for a pre-order of the Star Locket because all the deputies filled up. *cries* Who decided to have all the pricier merch to be released back to back? I’m also hoping the finish is a light shade of pink unlike the other compacts that came out recently.

Hmmm, not so sure about this. The Crystal Star is a beautiful broach; however, when i see t his version, it doesn’t come off as being as beautiful as previous versions.
Perhaps it looks better in person.

The design on the face of the broach does not have as much depth as in previous versions. It looks as though the design melts into the broach too much. I like more depth. Also, the sparkly jewels ………….. not sure if I like that.

That’s what I did with the Cutie Rod but for this I’m so in love I ordered it on CDJapan as soon as I saw it (their newsletters are the worst enablers for me lol.) My friend already got her Cutie Rod though since she ordered direct from Japan. Ahhhh. So jelly. Lol.

Natürlich gibts das auf Amazon, Moon stick und Cutie Moon Rod sind beide da. Ich geb zu es gibt sie woanders günstiger aber keine Versandkosten und wenn man keinen Zoll zahlen muss kann sich das noch lohnen.
